Louisiana Holiday Trail Of Lights

The Louisiana Holiday Trail of Lights has been around for almost 3 decades or 30 years to augment the Christmas experiences for locals, visitors and groups. The Holiday Trail of Lights runs along I-20 and I-49 in north Louisiana. The cities that are on the trail are Shreveport and Bossier, MindenMonroe-West MonroeNatchitoches, and Alexandria/Pineville.

Festivities start in mid-November and run well beyond New Year. A few of the prevalent events include shopping/dining/entertaining at the Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets in Shreveport-Bossier, Fasching Fifth Season Celebration in Minden just a block from Huffman House Bed and Breakfast and Old World Christmas Lights Spectacular also held in Minden. Shopping in Antique Alley in Monroe-West Monroe or in the historic downtown area of Minden, is a blast when you uncover the treasure. The Festival of Lights in Natchitoches, and the Christmas parades and safari zoo tour in Alexandria/Pineville round out some of the highlights.

The Louisiana Holiday Trail of Lights can be experienced in a day or a week with each day totally unique and special. Each town or city is within driving distance of one another, making the tour a convenient hour-long trip from any one city to its neighboring city. Visitors are encouraged to see the brilliant downtown and neighborhood lights, dine at local restaurants and experience the taste of the community. Dance at the festivals, and embrace the goodwill of the season.
